Check your dispute first

Answer a few questions to see your options before writing your complaint.

Check your options

Payment-provider complaints can split fast. A disputed card transaction may point to chargeback, while a frozen account, blocked transfer, payment-service issue, or provider complaint may need the provider process and FSPO route.

For a missing transfer, frozen balance, card dispute or account restriction, identify the payment provider and transaction before writing your complaint.

What to do next

  1. 1Separate the merchant dispute from the payment-provider dispute.
  2. 2Use chargeback quickly where a card purchase is disputed and the card route is still open.
  3. 3For regulated payment-service or account complaints, complain to the provider and preserve any final response for FSPO checks.

Common payment-provider complaint searches

Common searches include Revolut account frozen, PayPal buyer protection refused, chargeback rejected, bank will not reverse payment, missing transfer, card scam dispute, account closed, and payment provider not responding.

Do not mix the routes

A complaint about a retailer refusing a refund is different from a complaint about a bank or payment provider mishandling a payment dispute. Keep the facts, dates, and remedy separate.

Before you write

  • Payment date and amount
  • Merchant or payee details
  • Provider complaint reference
  • Chargeback messages
  • Final response if any

Questions people ask

Is chargeback the same as an FSPO complaint?

No. Chargeback is a card/payment route with bank and card-scheme rules. FSPO is a complaints route for unresolved financial-services complaints.

Can I use small claims against a payment provider?

Do not start there. Financial-services and payment complaints usually need the provider process, chargeback checks, and FSPO route considered first.
